Faculty & Administration
We know our teachers are the heart of our school.
At Great Beginnings, we aim to hire and retain a collaborative team of teachers who are kind, nurturing, inquisitive, capable and professional
Our History
The school was formed by a group of parents in 1986 to provide an educational environment based on the philosophy and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. The school shared space with Eagle Mount, a local non-profit that provides recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and young people with cancer.
In 2002, the school moved to the Springhill building with two early childhood classrooms serving ages 3-6. In 2017, we expanded to our Foothills campus, which is now the home of our toddler program.

Springhill Location
The Springhill campus offers a unique and engaging learning environment, featuring a yurt classroom, three primary classrooms with connected outdoor learning spaces, a traditional playground, and a nature-based play area that invites exploration and discovery. This campus is home to our primary and kindergarten classrooms, serving children ages 3–6.

Foothills Location
Our Foothills campus is located just one mile north of our Springhill campus, offering a cozy and welcoming setting for our youngest learners. The charming log cabin houses two classrooms and a dedicated movement room, all surrounded by open fields where children can run, explore, and play freely. This licensed facility is thoughtfully designed to support our pre-primary program for children ages 2–3, providing a nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment.
