Great Beginnings

Halloween Masquerade and The Chocolate Moose!

On Friday, October 27th, 2017, please join us at the Story Mansion for a decadent dessert event, complete with dancing, a silent auction, and a spooky evening of enchantment. The fun starts at 6:00pm.

Why You Should Join Us:

  • Masked in mystery and draped in decadence, a masquerade ball is nothing short of magical. Costumes are encouraged, and masks are mandatory. There will be a prize for the best costume of the night.
  • Connect with your friends with our signature cocktails, beer and wine.
  • Vie for the best silent auction gems, including new treasures and old favorites.
  • Enjoy decadent desserts, including our namesake rich chocolate mousse.
  • Dino Drop-In is providing care exclusively for the children of Moose attendees, so you can finally get a well-deserved night out on the town.

Our celebration is open to the public, and to our Great Beginnings family, past and present. This spooky event is to celebrate our beautiful community, and our home in Gallatin Valley. Additionally, Great Beginnings is growing to serve even more of our local community and families – please join us!

In the spirit of mystery, an anonymous family has donated $5,000 as a matching donation towards our teacher's continuing education. Our teachers are spectacular, and they strive to be the most credentialed and qualified teacher team in the Valley. The school supported Deb Zander in 2015 to earn her Montessori credential, Abbee Skaggs and her Montessori credential in 2016, and we want to support Hannah Beckner for 2017. We love our teachers!

What is a Chocolate Moose? 16 years ago, a group of parents created this annual event to help with community building and fundraising. Since its start, it has changed themes and places every few years, depending on the wishes of the current community. Ranging from limousines and black-tie at the Riverside Country Club, to a chef-led evening of contemporary dining at Bridger Kitchens, to a boot-scootin' county band at Faultline North.

Why $32? Historically, Moose ticket prices have ranged from $100 to free, with everything in between. At $32 per/ person, the committee intends to keep prices affordable, and cover the basic costs of food, venue, music, and party rentals. Additionally, GBMS is 32-years-old, so the ticket prices reflect a dollar-per-year.

Feedback: Last year, from attendee feedback, the Moose committee decided to change the theme this year to 1.) dress-up in costumes, and 2.) provide childcare.

What is masquerade? The masquerade-theme is about masks. We will have a handful of masks available at the party of you forget. Attendees are welcome to wear costumes for our Halloween theme, and we will have a prize for the best costumes.
