Here's what we do.

Academic Programs

One Toddler classroom for our youngest students who may attend school as few as two, or as many as five days each week.

Two Primary classrooms are perfectly appointed for our 3, 4 & 5-year-old students at our Springhill campus, and one Primary classroom at our Foothills campus. Our all-day kindergarten program for our 5-year-olds combines a multi-age classroom in the mornings, and has a designated kindergarten program in the afternoons.

Arts and Enrichment programs to enhance our students’ development and love of learning includes Art, Physical Education, Music, and French classes. We begin teaching music appreciation and physical education at age three.

We offer several Extended Day Options for students of all ages. A student can begin the school day as early as 7:45 a.m, and as late as 5:30 p.m. enjoying extracurricular activities in our after-school program.

Each classroom has one teacher, and at least one assistant to serve our diverse classes. Some classes have as few as 10 students, while others have as many as 23—a perfect multi-age setting allowing students to collaborate, mentor and learn to be part of a community.

Our School

Great Beginnings Montessori is a nonsectarian Montessori school for children beginning at age two extending through kindergarten. The school was formed by a group of parents in 1986 to provide an educational environment based on the philosophy and methods of Dr. Maria Montessori. The school shared space with Eagle Mount, a local non-profit committed that provides therapeutic recreational opportunities for people with disabilities and young people with cancer.

In 2002, the school moved to the Springhill building with two early childhood classrooms serving ages 3-6. Great Beginnings expanded in 2014 to include a toddler classroom (ages 2-3). In 2015, the Board of Directors supported a campaign to build a yurt to supplement our classroom space and provide an extraordinary classroom for our kindergarten students.

In 2017, we expanded to our Foothills campus, and 2018 announces the start of our elementary program. The HISTORY & TIMELINE of our school's growth is outlined in our school's expansion website at:
